Welcome to StoriA, a gentle AI companion for older adults that keeps them company and preserves their stories, in their own voice, for the people who love them. StoriA is a venture of Creativelabs AI LLC ("Cre8ive Labs," "we," "us"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and us. By enrolling a loved one, creating an account, or using StoriA, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use StoriA.

What StoriA is

StoriA has two parts: a warm AI companion that converses with an older adult, and a keepsake that captures and organizes their memories so the family can keep them close. StoriA is in active development and is offered as an early-access service, so features may change, pause, or be withdrawn as we improve it.

StoriA is a companion, not a caregiver. It is not a medical, mental-health, nursing, or emergency service, and it is not a substitute for human care, supervision, or professional advice. If someone needs help or is in danger, contact a qualified person or your local emergency number right away.

Who can use StoriA

You must be at least 18 years old to create or manage an account. StoriA is set up for a storyteller by an organizer, an adult family member, or by a care community acting on the family's behalf.

Enrolling a loved one

When you enroll a storyteller, you confirm that:

• you have a genuine relationship with them and the authority or consent to set up StoriA for them;
• you will respect their wishes, comfort, and dignity, and will stop or pause the service if they do not want it; and
• for a care community, you have the resident's or their representative's permission and the right to act on their behalf.

You are responsible for how you use StoriA with your loved one and for honoring their preferences.

Your account

Keep your account details accurate and your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at storia@cre8ivelabs.ai if you suspect unauthorized use.

Your stories belong to you

The storyteller and their family own their voice recordings, transcripts, photos, and stories. We do not claim ownership of them. To operate StoriA, you grant us a limited, revocable license to store, process, transcribe, organize, and deliver this content to the people you designate, and to use trusted providers to help us do so, as described in our Privacy Policy. This license exists only to run and deliver the service, and it ends when you delete the content or close the account, except for copies we must retain by law or in routine backups for a limited time.

Using StoriA responsibly

Please do not use StoriA to:

• enroll someone without their consent or your authority to act for them;
• upload content that is unlawful, that infringes others' rights, or that you have no right to share;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse the service; or
• use StoriA in a way that harms, deceives, or exploits a vulnerable person.

About AI-generated conversation

StoriA's companion is powered by artificial intelligence. It can be warm and helpful, but it can also be wrong, and it does not understand a person the way a human does. Do not rely on StoriA for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions. Prompts and questions it offers are meant to spark memory and conversation, nothing more.

Early access, availability, and changes

Because StoriA is in development, we may add, change, or remove features, and the service may be unavailable at times. We may update these Terms as StoriA evolves. If a change is material, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use StoriA after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Fees

Early access may be offered free or as part of a program with a care community. If we introduce paid plans, we will describe the price and terms clearly before you are charged.

Third-party services

StoriA relies on third-party technology and infrastructure providers. Their services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

Disclaimers

StoriA is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that StoriA will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will preserve every recording perfectly, though we work hard to keep your stories safe.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cre8ive Labs and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data or content. Our total liability for any claim relating to StoriA will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Cre8ive Labs harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of StoriA, your violation of these Terms, or your enrollment of a storyteller without proper authority or consent.

Termination

You can stop using StoriA and close the account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are violated or if needed to protect users or the service. On closure, you can request an export of the collection, and we will handle remaining data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
