StoriA is a gentle AI companion for older adults. It keeps a person company with warm, natural conversation, and it preserves their memories and stories, in their own voice, so their family can keep them close for years to come. Because StoriA works with something precious, a person's voice and life story, we treat privacy as a matter of trust, not a formality. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who StoriA is for, and who enrolls

StoriA is designed for older adults, and it is usually set up by someone who loves them: an adult family member, or a care community acting on the family's behalf. When you enroll a loved one, you confirm that you have the relationship and the authority to do so, and that you will honor their wishes and dignity. We call the older adult whose stories are preserved the storyteller, the person who sets up and manages the account the organizer, and a facility that offers StoriA to residents a care community.

Information we collect

Account and enrollment details. Names, email address, phone number, the relationship between organizer and storyteller, and, for care communities, the facility and staff contact.

The storyteller's profile. Details the family or storyteller chooses to share so StoriA can converse warmly and ask good questions: things like a preferred name, hometown, family members, interests, and life milestones.

Conversations and voice recordings. StoriA records and stores the spoken conversations between the storyteller and the companion, and written transcripts of them. This is the heart of the service: it is how stories are captured in the storyteller's own voice.

Stories and memories. The organized recordings, transcripts, photos, and notes that make up the preserved collection.

Support and communications. Messages you send us, and records of the help we provide.

Device and usage information. Basic technical data, such as device type, app version, general activity, and diagnostics, that helps StoriA run reliably. We keep this to what we need and do not use it to build advertising profiles.

How we use information

• To provide the companion experience: to converse, remember context, and ask thoughtful questions.
• To capture, organize, transcribe, and safely store stories, and to deliver them to the family.
• To set up and manage accounts, and to support organizers and care communities.
• To keep the service safe, reliable, and secure, and to prevent misuse.
• To improve StoriA, using the least identifiable information necessary.
• To communicate with you about the service, and, only with your permission, about news or updates.

The AI that powers StoriA

StoriA uses artificial intelligence to hold conversations and to help organize stories. To do this, we may share conversation content with trusted technology providers that process it on our behalf under contract. We do not sell your information, and we do not allow these providers to use a storyteller's voice or stories to train their own general models except where we have a lawful basis and, where required, your consent. AI can be imperfect, so please also read our Terms of Use for what StoriA is and is not.

Voice and stories deserve special care

A person's voice and life story are deeply personal. We treat the storyteller's recordings and stories as belonging to them and their family, not to us. We use voice recordings to preserve and deliver stories, not to identify people biometrically, and not for advertising. Access is limited to the organizer, people the family invites, and, where applicable, authorized care-community staff.

When we share information

We share personal information only in these situations:

• With the family and invited people. Organizers control who can see a storyteller's collection.
• With a care community, when it enrolls a resident, limited to what that role requires.
• With service providers who host, process, or support the service under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
• For legal reasons, when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect someone's safety.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, with continued protection under this policy.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Families can review, export, or delete a storyteller's collection. To make a request, write to storia@cre8ivelabs.ai. We will respond as required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. If a care community manages the account, we may direct certain requests to them as the responsible party.

How long we keep information

Preserving stories over the long term is the point of StoriA, so we keep a storyteller's collection for as long as the family keeps the account, or until they ask us to delete it. Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. When you delete content or close an account, we remove or de-identify the associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you trust us with, and we will notify you and regulators of a breach where the law requires.

Children

StoriA is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has been enrolled improperly, contact us and we will address it.

A note on health information

StoriA is a companionship and memory-keeping service. It is not a medical or healthcare provider and does not provide medical, mental-health, or emergency services. Where a care community that is a HIPAA covered entity uses StoriA with protected health information, a separate agreement between us governs that use.

International users

We operate from the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as StoriA grows. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you directly. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
